This may or may not be a bold statement, but here goes: whale sharks are
friggin’ righteous. I’ve mentioned before that I’d give my right nut eyeteeth to get
the chance to swim with one.
However, for those of you with a bit more disposable income than me, and want to dive with a whale shark, the excellent
Chris Mitchell from Dive Happy has a nice write-up about the top places to dive with whale sharks in
Thailand (hint: Chumphon Pinnacle; Hin Daeng; and Richelieu Rock).
Mitchell stresses that there are no guarantees when going whale-shark-viewing: in fact, “they are spotted perhaps [only] 10 times maximum in a six month season.” In other words, you’d better hope you’re living right! Finally, for those of us who don’t know much about Thailand, Mitchell’s taken the time to write up some brief tips on “How To Get Here,” so you can figure out, um, how to get there.
